What do we provide?
Stonehill House has 11 single bed sitting rooms, many of which are ensuite. Some ground floor accommodation has direct access to the garden and there is a lift to the first floor. To ensure a homely atmosphere residents may bring items of personal furniture. Telephones can be installed at residents' expense using the lines provided by the Society in each room. Residents at the Abbeyfield Haddenham Society have their own room and front door key.
Most rooms and all toilets and wash rooms have an alarm system to call for help. In addition each resident is loaned a personal aid call pendant. Staff are on duty seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
All meals are provided and there is a choice of menu for lunch and the evening meal and residents' preferences are taken into account by the catering staff. Guests are welcome to have lunch or tea at Stonehill House at a nominal charge, but advance notice is requested. In the case of temporary illness or disability staff will serve meals to residents in their room. Laundry and ironing is undertaken and rooms cleaned. We are proud of the magnificent gardens, especially designed with the elderly in mind.
The doctors and nurses at Haddenham Health Centre visit Stonehill House weekly or more often if required. Gentle exercise classes are held twice-weekly and a hairdresser and chiropodist visit regularly. Stonehill House is within easy reach of Stoke Mandeville and John Radcliffe Hospitals.
Stonehill House operates a no smoking policy. |
